Ward 22 has specialist interests in elderly care. The team work closely with the MDT and advocates collaborative working.

Full support will be given for you to achieve your developmental needs; this may include Honorary Contracts to enable you to settle into the hospital environment. We expect staff to work together as a team to achieve the best outcomes; you will be encouraged to work with your manager to identify an individual competency pack which will be relevant to the area in which you intend to work and to meet your learning needs.

Newly qualified Band 5 nurses are welcomed to apply; you can work towards Band 5 competencies & develop extended roles; full support for Preceptorship given.

Ward 2 is a Trauma and Orthopedic Ward admitting patients for a wide variety of surgery. The main route of admission for our patient is via the Accident and Emergency Department.

An Opportunitiy has arisen within Elderly Medicine on the New Acute Frailty Unit situated at the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI) in Lancaster.

We are looking to employ registered nurse with elderly care experience who wish to be involved in improving care for frail patients. The Acute Frailty Unit is a 15 bedded assessment unit with a specific assessment criteria. Nurses involved in care will assess. impliment and evaluate care needs for frail patients in order to facilitate early discharge. The Frailty unit is supported by Eldely Consultants and a care of the eldely team of nurses.

This is an ideal opportunity to be involved with the continous development of the frailty unit and to re shape the pathway for the frailty patients within the Morecambe Bay Area.

We are looking for a highly motivated nurse, with the possession of both a strong clinical knowledge base and relevant skill set. The successful candidate will have previous managerial experience in a substantive role and demonstrable experience in leadership and change management within a surgical setting. As the right candidate you will understand our strategic and divisional objectives and be able to translate these to our staff.

Excellent negotiation, influencing & communication skills are essential and you must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate and sustain new innovative ways of working which facilitate developments in nursing practice.
