An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the dedicated ICU team. The intensive care unit at Furness General Hospital is a 6 bedded ICU/HDU caring for level 2 & 3 patients from a variety of specialisms.

Full support will be given for you to achieve your developmental needs including a supernumery period. You will receive a Critical Care Developmental pack to work through – a transferable document of competence, to display evidence & training undertaken.

ICU experience is preferable but not essential, experienced or newly qualified Band 5 nurses can apply. Full support for Preceptorship will be given. This is an exciting opportunity not to be missed.

Are you passionate about stroke? Do you have the personal ability to develop into a Clinical Nurse Specialist for this complex patient group? Do you want to play a key role in developing our clinical workforce? Do you have the knowledge skills and experience to contribute significantly to changes in practice and service delivery? An exciting development opportunity has arisen for an individual to come and join the stroke team at the Royal Lancaster Infirmary. We are looking for a forward thinking individual, with strong leadership skills, who wants to make a real difference for patients who have had a stroke, and who has the aptitude to fulfil the Clinical Nurse Specialist Role.

The role will include assessing acute stroke patients in a variety of settings including ED, inpatient areas and TIA clinic. It will also be expected that the individual will support the multidisciplinary stroke team in facilitating recovery and discharge from the acute setting. The individual will also be expected to assist in thrombolysis, and the training and development of staff and provide support to patients and their families. We are looking for a highly motivated individual who have at least 3 years post registration nursing experience preferably in a stroke or neuro environment, and evidence of level 6 academic studies. The successful candidate should have proven leadership skills, be an excellent communicator and have knowledge of clinical change methodology.

You will have a high level of self-awareness and be dedicated to the development of your own clinical skills and knowledge base to an advanced level.

The Special Care Baby Unit is about to move into a new purpose built maternity and neonatal unit.

Applications are invited from enthusiastic, well-motivated Registered Nurses to join our Gynaecological Nursing team at Furness General Hospital.

Based on Ward 1, you will participate in a fully integrated Gynaecological nursing service covering inpatients, day case surgery and outpatients, with internal rotation to night duty.

We provide a Gynaecology Assessment Unit, Early Pregnancy Unit, and are looking to expand our Nurse led services.

We also have a responsibility to care for non Gynaecology In patients.

Interest in women’s health issues, good communication skills and a commitment to providing high standards of care are essential attributes for the post.

This service is developing and therefore you will need to be flexible and adaptable.
